IB ADMISSIONS (2010) – RIVERVIEW HIGH SCHOOL

January 4, 2010            First available date to begin application submission. (Note: as mid-term grades will not yet be available, no applications can be “complete” at this early date.)

January 26, 2010          IB Information Night at Riverview H.S. – 6:00 p.m. – auditorium

Break-out Sessions & Tours beginning after the 6:00 p.m. Presentation

February 22, 2010       IB Information Night at Riverview H.S. – 6:00 p.m. – auditorium

March 11, 2010           IB Information Night at Riverview H.S. – 6:00 p.m. – cafeteria

(Repeat of January 26 & February 22 presentations)

April 19, 2010              Mandatory registration meeting for incoming 9th grade students. Course

registration and organizational meeting – 6:00 p.m. – RHS auditorium and

other locations TBA. (Incoming students may be required to take

Placement Tests at this time.)

(Registration for grade 10 & grade 11 transfer students to be announced.)

May 1, 2010                Deadline for reassignment forms (out of district students)

May 15, 2010              Summer assignments available on-line www.riverviewib.com

May 29, 2010              All registration requirements must be met or seats will be released.

  • YOU MUST RESIDE IN SARASOTA COUNTY IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE IB PROGRAM AT RIVERVIEW HIGH SCHOOL. Proof of relocation (prior to enrollment/registration) will be required if currently out of county.
  • IB is a Magnet Program not a Choice Program (No need to apply for School Choice.)
  • Transportation provided for Riverview districted students only.
  • Your application to the program will not be evaluated until all requested materials have been received.  You will receive written confirmation of the Admission’s Committee decision via the U.S. Post Office.

  • Registration materials will be sent in March.  Students coming from private schools will require proof of physical (past 12 months) and immunization records.  Please make arrangements to have these items completed prior to our registration meeting in April, if possible.  May 29 is the cut-off for meeting registration requirements.

  • August Orientation dates to be announced.
